  • An iPhone, Android or Windows phone with the latest update of The Bank of Missouri's Mobile app
    • iPhone users: Version 2.7.5 or higher
    • Android users: Version 2.01a1 or higher
    • Windows users: Version 2.0 or higher 
(Please note that for Windows phones, Mobile Check Deposit is a standalone app. There is not currently a full mobile banking app for Windows devices. Windows users should use the mobile web banking service available through the phone's browser.)

What is Mobile Check Deposit?

The Bank of Missouri's Mobile Check Deposit is a service that allows you to deposit paper checks to your Bank of Missouri deposit account by taking a picture of the check using your iPhone, Android or Windows phone.

How do I deposit a check with Mobile Check Deposit?

Android and iPhone users will follow the steps below to deposit a check using The Bank of Missouri’s mobile banking app.  Windows users are utilizing a stand-alone mobile check deposit app which supplies easy to follow steps within the app.  Android and iPhone users – please remember that you must first apply for this service before your app will display the “Deposit” icon..

  1. Log into your Bank of Missouri Mobile App
  2. Tap the More button that is located at the bottom right of the screen
  3. Tap on the Deposits icon
  4. Take a photograph of your endorsed check:

Who is eligible for The Bank of Missouri Mobile Check Deposit?

Mobile Check Deposit is available to consumers/businesses that have:

  • Proof of a satisfactory bank deposit relationship for the last 6 months
  • No more than 2 continuing overdraft fees in the last 12 months
  •  No more than 2 returned items in the last 12 months
  • Online Banking (not required for Windows phone users)
  • Mobile Banking (not required for Windows phone users)

What version of the Mobile Banking App do I need to have?

Mobile Check Deposit is a feature that is included in the most recent version of our Mobile Banking App.  To use Mobile Check Deposit you must have version 2.7.5 or higher for iPhone, version 2.0.1a1 or higher for Android, and version 2.0 or higher for Windows phones.

Once the application has been submitted, you will be notified by The Bank of Missouri within 2 business days as to whether or not you have been approved for the Mobile Check Deposit service.

What type of mobile device do I need to use for Mobile Check Deposit?

Mobile Check Deposit is supported on mobile devices that meet the following criteria: 

  • Android, iPhone or Windows phones
  • A 2.0 megapixel resolution or higher camera with auto-focus 
  • Apple iOS version 3.2 or higher 
  • Android OS version 2.1 or higher 
  • Windows OS version 7.1 or higher

What type of checks can I deposit with Mobile Check Deposit?

Any check drawn on institutions located within the United States that has a MICR line (these are the numbers printed in magnetic ink near the bottom of the front of your check). Checks need to be payable to the account owner or any joint owner(s) and must be properly endorsed with: “[Payee Signature] For Mobile Deposit Only [Account # receiving deposit]”.

What type of checks can I NOT deposit with Mobile Check Deposit?

The following types of checks will not be accepted via our Mobile Check Deposit feature:

  • Foreign Checks
  • Checks payable to any person or entity other than yourself or a joint owner 
  • Returned or re-deposited items

Are there limits on the dollar amount and the number of deposits I can make?

You are limited to the number of deposits made per day and per rolling 30 day period (month). You are also limited to the dollar amount of the deposits made per day and per rolling 30 day period (month). 

Consumer deposit limits: 

  • Daily limit: Max of 5 checks and $1,500.00 total
  • Monthly limit: Max of 20 checks and $5,000.00 total 

Business deposit limits: 

  • Daily limit: Max of 5 checks and $5,000.00 total
  • Monthly limit: Max of 60 checks and $25,000.00 total

What is the cost for using Mobile Check Deposit?

Each check deposited will incur a $0.50 per item fee.  However, the service is free for the first 3 months.  During this period you will not be charged the per item fee for depositing a check.

When will I have access to my Mobile Check Deposit funds?

Typically, funds are available on the next business day. We normally apply the terms of the “Regulation CC Funds Availability Disclosure” to check images received via The Bank of Missouri Mobile Check Deposit as if we had received the original paper check. However, in addition to any exceptions specified in the “Regulation CC Funds Availability Disclosure,” we may delay availability of funds from any deposit you make through The Bank of Missouri Mobile Check Deposit at any time at our sole discretion. This includes any concern we may have regarding our ability to collect the funds based upon any check image that you present.

Is there a cutoff time to make my deposit?

Deposits made by 4 p.m. CST with Mobile Check Deposit are typically available on the next business day. Deposits submitted on weekends, federal holidays and Monday through Friday after 4 p.m. CST are processed the following business day.

Can I deposit more than one check at a time?

You can deposit multiple checks in the same mobile banking session; however you can only submit one check per deposit at a time.

What should I do with my check after using Mobile Check Deposit to deposit it?

You must securely store the original check either until you see it deposited into your account or for 14 days after it has been submitted, whichever is less. After the retention period, you must write “VOID” across the front of the check in black or blue ink and then destroy it by cross-cut shredding or another commercially acceptable means of destruction.

Why was my check rejected?

Mobile Check Deposit could have rejected your check for any of the following reasons: 

Reason: The check could not be easily read by the software 

  • Solution: Retake the picture. Make sure to keep a steady hand and make sure all four corners of the check are in the picture frame. Make sure that the check is lying as flat as possible and on a dark colored background. 

Reason: The check could be exceeding the daily or monthly deposit limits. 

  • Solution #1: If you will be exceeding the limits on a regular basis, you should contact The Bank of Missouri to request a change to your limits. 
  • Solution #2: If this is an exception item, you can deposit the check at the Bank of Missouri location nearest you. 

Reason: There could be a discrepancy between the amount entered and the amount for which the check is written. 

  • Solution: Verify that the amount written on the check matches the amount you entered. 

Reason: The item has already been deposited. 

  • Solution: Review the transaction history on your account. Has the check already been deposited? 

These are the most common reasons that a check could be rejected. If you have corrected these issues and your check is still being rejected, please contact an Information Specialist at (888) 547-6541; or you may deposit the check at the Bank of Missouri location nearest you.

A check I deposited was returned, can I re-submit it through Mobile Check Deposit?

No. If a check is returned for insufficient funds, you may not re-deposit it through Mobile Deposit Capture. You should bring it in to a Bank of Missouri location.

How secure is Mobile Check Deposit?

The Bank of Missouri Mobile Banking requires a secure login for access. No one is able to access your account information without knowing your ID and password. How will I know that The Bank of Missouri received my deposit?

You will receive a message that says “Deposit Accepted” on the screen and it will give you an opportunity to review the deposit. You will also receive an e-mail confirmation once the deposit has been approved.

Is Mobile Check Deposit available 24/7?

Yes. Mobile Check Deposit is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, the service may be temporarily unavailable from time to time for scheduled maintenance.

Do I need to be a Bank of Missouri customer to use Mobile Check Deposit?

Yes.  Android and iPhone users need to have a Bank of Missouri deposit account, Online Banking, and Mobile Banking to use Mobile Check Deposit.  Windows users also need to have a Bank of Missouri deposit account, but are not required to be enrolled in Online Banking or Mobile Banking to use Mobile Check Deposit.

When can I start using Mobile Check Deposit?

You can begin to use Mobile Check Deposit when: 

  • You receive the approval e-mail from The Bank of Missouri 
  • You have downloaded the newest version of the Bank of Missouri app  
    • Version 2.7.5 or higher for iPhone 
    • Version 2.0.1a1 or higher for Android
    • Version 2.0 or higher for Windows

How do I add or remove accounts from Mobile Check Deposit?
